Meta is introducing new features such as AI-powered noise cancellation to its messaging app, Messenger. Messenger benefits from HD video calling and voice isolation, both of which can be enabled from the call settings menu. According to META, HD calls are defaults by default of calls and cellular call options published via Wi-Fi.
If you use Messenger, you can leave a sound or video message if you are not available in contacts, such as digital voice mail. If someone does not respond to the call, you can send an audio or video by pressing the new button "Publish Message". There is a new integration of Siri. On iOS, you can ask Siri to help you make a call or send a message by saying something like, "Hey Siri, send a message to Cassandra on Messenger," and then dictating the message content.
Meta has finally launched the AI backgrounds for video calling that it announced earlier this year. Meta says that users will soon be able to create AI-generated backgrounds during a Messenger video call by clicking the "Effects" icon in the sidebar and selecting "Background."
Messenger's update comes after Meta rolled out new community features for the app, integrated the Meta AI chatbot into the Messenger search bar, and added tools for sharing large files. Towards the end of last year, Meta made Messenger conversations end-to-end encrypted by default.
