WhatsApp is launching a feature that allows users to choose HD quality as the default when sharing images and videos over conversations. The capability is now being sent out to iOS and Android users. Users may transmit high-resolution photographs and videos by navigating to WhatsApp's settings on their smartphone, then selecting 'Storage and Data' and 'HD quality' as the media upload quality.
Previously, users had to manually pick HD quality as an option whenever they shared a photo or video to someone, but with new functionality, quality is automatically adjusted to HD. WhatsApp launched the option to share HD images last year, and it later expanded to include the ability to send HD films. That feature allows users to.
HD quality shares images in their original size of 3024×4032 pixels, while Standard quality reduces iPhone photo resolution to 960×1280 pixels. The image is generally compressed when sent over WhatsApp, however this option will maintain the photo in higher resolution than the standard quality. Users with limited data packs and storage space must adjust the resolution of the material to be transferred, as higher resolutions cost more data, and HD grade media requires more space and time to distribute over a poor internet connection. Videos of up to 64MB can be shared using WhatsApp.
To utilise this feature, users must install the newest version of WhatsApp or upgrade their existing version to the most recent version; however, the functionality may not show instantly and users may have to wait for it to become available on their device.
