Spotify’s HiFi streaming could finally arrive this year

Spotify is set to release its Hifi tier, "Music Pro," in 2025, offering lossless audio and a monthly subscription costing between $5 and $6.

Spotify's long-awaited Hifi tier was first announced almost four years ago, but could eventually be released in 2025 under the name "Music Pro." The service is expected to support lossless audio and may cost between $5 and $6 a month in addition to Spotify's premium subscriptions now starting at $11.99.

Unlike Apple Music, which includes lossless streaming at no extra cost, Spotify is reportedly planning to justify the price increase by bundling exclusive features such as song remixing and special concert ticket offers.

Earlier this year, Spotify secured key licensing agreements with Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group, both of which hinted at HiFi streaming and additional perks for superfans. In particular, Universal Music Groups are making fun of features such as priority access to the Deluxe Edition, early music issues, exclusive parties for listening, and artist sessions. These transactions suggest that Spotify positions music pros as a premium reserve beyond better sound.

Although it has taken longer than anticipated, Spotify the world’s largest music streaming service seems poised to introduce HiFi in 2025. With enhanced audio quality and exclusive fan-focused benefits, Music Pro could provide a new level of engagement for dedicated listeners.
