Link-in-bio-platform Linktree said Thursday that he had purchased a social media tool with an open amount. Although Sydney, the planned planner in Australia, will continue to act as usual, Linktree will integrate its social plan tools to its platform for the next few months. This means users will soon be able to use features like social media scheduling and automated posting to platforms like TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. It's unclear if Linktree plans to integrate all of Plann's features, such as the AI-powered subtitle generator.
Linktree didn’t specify how much the new scheduling tool would cost for users. Plann users will transition to Linktree once it officially launches. The entire Plann team, including employees and contractors, will join Linktree, with founder Christy Laurence becoming a permanent team member, the company said.
According to the company, social scheduling is one of Linktree's most requested features because it helps creators streamline the content distribution process and save time. “The 50 million creators and businesses using Linktree are busy creating content, many of them juggling multiple businesses we’re working to simplify the way they manage, grow and monetize their audiences. Alex Zaccaria, Co-Founder and CEO, Linktree "Adding social scheduling to Linktree will make it even easier to distribute inspiring content so our linkers can continue to do what they love create," said a statement. This is Linktree's fourth acquisition, following three other investments it has made in recent years: link-in-bio rivals Koji and Bento, and automated music link aggregation platform Odesli.
Separately, Linktree launched a beta social commerce product earlier this year that allows creators to add storefronts to their affiliate bio pages and collect 12-15% commission on sales. Linktree claims to have over 50 million users.
