Google Photos is reportedly developing a new feature called "My Week," allowing users to share highlights of their week with family and friends through photo diary-like invitations.

According to reports, Google Photos, the default media manager on most Android devices, may be developing a new feature called "My Week," which will allow users to share highlights of their week with other family and friends by sending photo diary-like invitations. This was reported after an APK teardown of the Google Photos app, which is not yet publicly available.

Android Authority, working with tipster AssembleDebug, reported that the feature may be in the works. This came to light after the Google Photos app's version 6.90 APK was removed because the My Week feature hadn't launched yet. The app's Memories carousel reportedly features a new tile titled "My Week Overview." As seen in the leaked screenshots, the tech giant describes the feature as a "weekly photo diary for you and those special people of your choice."

Tapping the screen will open a setup wizard where users can select the photos they want to share as part of their weekly highlights and invite whoever they want to invite. Once the invitation is accepted, the recipient will apparently see a week's worth of memories in the Photos tab. Depending on the report, they will be able to like the photo and even comment on it. Because it is the only invitation, it can be the only person who can see the shared memories. In addition to "My Week ", the application version 6.90 can also include several changes to the user interface (IU). In the "Place" section, there is now a map on the second floor, and the details of the photo can indicate whether this is part of the memory or album.

Google Photos has recently reached a new milestone and has exceeded the 10 billion upload on the Play Store. The application was announced in 2015 and passed only five years later after uploading 5 billion. As the default media management and photo gallery app on Android smartphones and tablets, it has become a widely used platform today.
