If you use Chrome on your PC, Google is making it easier to keep track of Google Meet calls that tend to get buried in tabs. According to a blog post, the company is currently rolling out a feature that will automatically open Google Meet calls in picture-in-picture mode when you switch tabs in Chrome. As Google shows in this GIF, when you tap outside of a Google Meet call, a new Meet window will appear somewhere else on your screen, allowing you to keep track of who's talking. This is handy if you're sure you're viewing a document someone's shared, but not their own thread feed.
The automatic picture-in-picture feature isn't limited to paid accounts; Google says it's available to "all Google Workspace customers, individual Workspace subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts." You can also manually enable picture-in-picture during a call if you need to.
