Microsoft and Discord have been significantly improving the integration of the communications platform into Xbox consoles. Since last year, you've been able to stream your gameplay to friends via Discord, but soon you'll be able to watch your friends' streams, whether they're streaming gameplay from a PC, phone, or Xbox. Xbox Insiders will be the first to get access to Discord broadcasts today, and the feature will appear in Discord voice calls and in the Friends' Happening Now section of the Xbox Dashboard. If your friends are chatting or broadcasting on a Discord server, the channel will also appear in that section.
Similar to watching streams in the Discord app, you’ll be able to mute a friend’s stream or control the volume using Xbox integration. The stream itself will open in full screen, but natively within the Xbox dashboard interface and won’t require a separate app. Xbox and Discord integration has also been improved, supporting direct calling to friends, so you don't need to join a Discord server call to start chatting. Microsoft and Discord have also improved the information shown about your Discord friends on Xbox, so you can now see shared servers, friends, and Xbox gamertags. Sony has recently improved the integration of Discord on PS5 and ultimately enforce the owner to participate in voice calls directly from the console. The PS5 version does not have a game play to a friend or see the flow of a friend.
