Google has introduced ChromeOS M131, enhancing usability and accessibility for Chromebook users.

Google has officially rolled out ChromeOS M131 to regular users, introducing several new features designed to enhance usability and accessibility. Among the standout additions is the "Safety Reset" function, which allows Chromebook users to resolve issues on their devices without performing a complete system wipe. Another significant feature is "Flash Notifications," a new accessibility tool aimed at users who may have difficulty hearing or noticing standard alerts.

The "Safety Reset" feature acts as a middle ground between Powerwash a full factory reset and retaining all your data. It’s designed to help users address virus-like behavior, such as persistent pop-ups or unusual system activity, without erasing local data, apps, saved passwords, or bookmarks.

According to Google's support documentation, users can access this feature directly by pressing **CTRL + Shift + Search + R**, or by navigating to the "Safety and privacy" section in Settings. Alternatively, users can search for terms like "Spam," "Virus," or "Pop-up" in the Settings or Launcher to locate it. Another key update in Chrome OS M131 is the "Flash Notifications" setting, designed to assist individuals who may rely on visual aids due to hearing impairments or use screen magnification to access content.

Found under "Audio and captions" in the accessibility settings, this feature provides a visual alert by flashing the screen, ensuring important notifications aren’t missed. Users can customize the flash’s color from several available options and preview the effect before enabling it.

These updates highlight Google’s continued efforts to improve both functionality and accessibility for Chromebook users, offering practical solutions for a more inclusive and seamless experience.
