Android 15, the next flagship operating system for Android devices, is due to be released later this year. It was first announced in February, and last month Google said it had reached "platform stability," which allows developers to integrate new features into their apps. Before the official development, a new report suggests that this update can provide new accessibility functions in the form of a color correction strength cursor, aimed at supporting a person with color -percentage.
Android 15 new accessibility function
According to Android Authority reports, you can introduce the strength cursor of the color correction function in Android 15. For those who don't know, this feature allows color-blind users to choose one of the color correction modes depending on their color vision deficiency.
It is said to offer three intensity values: low, medium, and high. Users could be able to manually adjust the intensity of the color correction that occurs when a particular mode is selected, compensating for the specific degree of their inability to see the colors, namely deuteromalia, protanomalia or Tritanomalia.
The report mentions that the functionality was not available in the Android 15 Beta 3.1 which was published earlier this month, but had to be activated manually. Other accessibility features: In addition to an intensity slider for color correction, Android 15 also provides an easier way to toggle screen magnification, which can be activated using a new two-finger double-tap gesture, so people with visual impairments can activate it right away without having to dig into their phone's settings to activate it. The update also includes a "Simple Preset" feature that will make text and icons larger for improved readability, as well as three on-screen navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. The feature is also said to increase contrast and make text and icons bolder.
