Amazon is set to shut down Freevee, its free (FAST) notification-enabled TV streaming service. The service's content was previously moved to Prime Video, and new instances of Freevee shows will be available to people who don't pay for Florescence, Deadline reports.

According to Deadline, the brand will be retired "in the coming weeks." Freevee first launched on Amazon-owned IMDb in 2019 as IMDb Freedive, then many months after launch it was rebranded to IMDb TV and also back to Freevee in 2022. The service has some of its own original content, such as Bosch Legacy and Dury Duty and Amazon added mainstream videotape content to its services starting in 2023.

In February, Adweek said that Amazon had passed on the brand's evening the company's offering was a little dirty after Prime Video's introduction in January. In a statement to Deadline, Amazon said: "Content available to Prime members, including select originals from Amazon-MGM Studios, a wide range of licensed pictures and TV series, and an extensive library of FAST Channels, all available on Prime Video."
