Apple has approved UTM SE, a computer emulation application for running classic software and games, weeks after the company rejected and banned the legalization of third-party app stores in the European Union. The app is currently available for free on iOS, iPadOS and VisionOS. After Apple rejected the app in June, the developer said he wouldn't continue trying because the app "wasn't up to par." Today, UTM thanked the AltStore team for their assistance, and also extended thanks to another developer whose "QEMU TCTI implementation was essential to this non-JIT release."

Like other emulators on the App Store, there's not much you can do with UTM SE. The app isn't bundled with any operating system, but there are links to the UTM site, which offers tutorials for Windows XP over Windows 11 emulation, as well as downloads of pre-built Linux virtual machines. Mac OS 9.2.1 and DOS are listed in a screenshot of the UTM SE App Store page.
