Chinese mobile phone brand Xiaomi and Taiwanese semiconductor company MediaTek launched their first joint lab on Tuesday to focus on three key technologies: mobile phone performance, telecommunications and artificial intelligence.
The deal was announced by Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand on China's X-like platform Weibo. The first product from the joint lab will be the Redmi K70 Premium Edition, an affordable mid-range machine designed to achieve maximum optimization in terms of performance benchmarks, gaming frame rates and simultaneous gaming frame-up times. Redmi General Manager Wang Ten revealed that the joint lab has equipped the Redmi K70 Premium Edition with a next-generation gaming GPU and independently developed dual-chip scheduling technology. The main chip is the Dimensity 9300+.
