Perplexity has significantly improved its Pro Search AI tool, which it says "understands when a question requires planning, moves on target, and synthesizes in-depth answers with greater efficiency."
An example of a professional search feature on Perplexity includes asking about the best time to see the Northern Lights in Iceland or Finland. It divided the research process into three quests: the best time to see the northern lights in Iceland and Finland; It then provides a detailed answer covering all aspects of the question, including when and where to see the Northern Lights in both countries.
Perplexity's AI search tool can also generate a detailed report based on a prompt with the Pages feature. But recent reports by Wired and Forbes have accused Perplexity of plagiarism, with a Wired report calling the self-proclaimed "repudiator" a "hoax machine" whose animations misrepresent its actions by circumventing bot rules.
Perplexity says that in addition to more thorough research, Search Pro now features advanced math and programming capabilities that improve its ability to analyze data, debug code and generate content. If you want to try it yourself, you can do five searches per day with a free account. Perplexity also offers 600 Pro searches per day for a $20 monthly subscription.
