The startup, called Safe Superintelligence Inc (SSI), was launched by Sutskever with his former OpenAI colleague Daniel Levy and Apple's former AI chief Daniel Gross.
The US company will have offices in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv, Israel, from where it plans to hire technical talent, according to a note on its website.“We have started the world’s first straight-shot SSI lab, with one goal and one product: a safe superintelligence,” the note says. The co-founders also shared that they are “assembling a lean, cracked team of the world’s best engineers and researchers dedicated to focusing on SSI and nothing else.”

In the note shared on the website, Sutskever stressed that his firm will always focus on safety, along with advancements.“We plan to advance capabilities as fast as possible while making sure our safety always remains ahead,” the note reads. The memo also invites engineers and technicians to participate in the startup's efforts to create safer artificial intelligence.
Several recent incidents have shown the risks of artificial intelligence and its uncontrolled use. An example is a UNESCO report which highlighted that the development of artificial intelligence could contribute to a wave of Holocaust denial. Likewise, deepfakes and the like have increased the situation for net users, which makes it easier to spread misinformation. Sutskever's new startup may be working to solve these problems and more in the coming days.
