Warsaw, June 21 (Reuters). Hackers disrupted live online broadcasts of Poland's Euro 2024 match against Austria on Friday, the state broadcaster said, marking the second cyber attack on Poland's soccer team during the tournament.
Broadcaster TVP said initial checks showed hackers had launched a decentralized denial of service (DDoS) attack that flooded servers with traffic, preventing fans from watching the Group D game. The online broadcast of Sunday's Poland-Netherlands match also suffered a similar attack.
"We apologize for the technical issues related to the online broadcast of the match between Poland and Austria," TVP said in a post on X. TVP announced that it has created an alternative website where fans can watch the games.
On Sunday, it said the attack was launched from an IP address located in Poland. It did not comment on the source of Friday's hack.
