US Technical Giant Cisco laid off thousands of workers after the second dismissal in 2024. Technology and network companies announced in August that about 4,000 employees fired in February would be released and then reduced the number of employees by 7 % or about 5,600.

Talos Security. Cisco, in an August statement said the second job cuts this year would enable it to "invest in key growth opportunities and improve efficiencies." On the same day that statement was released, Cisco issued its latest annual earnings report, in which the company said 2024 would be its "second-best year ever," with annual revenue of nearly $54 billion.

Company filings showed that Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins took in nearly $32 million in total compensation in 2023. A spokesman for Cisco would not comment on the story and would not say whether executives at the company plan to take pay cuts following the firings.
