According to The Information, despite the recent layoffs at the Reality Labs division, Meta is still on pace to launch the Quest 4 in 2026 and a higher-end headset in 2027.

While the review doesn't reveal much about the hardware, this is the first time we've heard of a specific timeline for the devices. The Quest 4 is said to have standard and premium versions, internally called "Pismo Low" and "Pismo High". At the same time, an advanced version codenamed "La Jolla" will be launched in 2027 and is designed to compete with the Apple Vision Pro. The report did not mention the Ventura, a more affordable pair of headphones that The Verge previously reported could launch later this year. Unless the Quest headset is expected, there are also meta will launch a couple of glasses with a good faith display. However, the information report states that these glasses are some doubts. Unlike the current Ray Element Smart Glasses, it is reported that this weight pair is 70 grams and it has a "voluminous design" due to the display. The report pointed out that this dwarf means they may not have Ray -like brands. Ray-Ban's parent company EssilorLuxottica reportedly doesn't like Ray-Ban.

If that's true, the clumsy design issues shouldn't be surprising. Most scars with screens fight the same problem. Currently, there is a challenge to show a small screen size and can also retain the smallest battery life and power. As a result, most companies that have attempted AR glasses have sidelined style, which in itself has been a major barrier to consumer adoption.
