The Gamma PS1 emulator has received several major updates since its release in May as one of the first iPhone console emulators. The latest update adds new "enhanced audio" features and better multiplayer support, and joins other major updates from the past few weeks. Developer Benjamin Stark (aka ZodTTD) told The Verge in an email that the enhanced audio feature in his latest update improves sound "using reverb and interpolation effects." He also "added Multitap emulation" to games using a Sony adapter that expands the number of ports on the PS1 controller from two to four. (Used in games like Crash Team Racing, NBA Jam: Championship Edition, etc.)

In other recent updates, Stark has added analog stick support for games that use Sony's Dual Shock controller, as well as the ability to change discs without returning to the main menu for multi-disc games like Metal Gear Solid. He's also launching a new "Pro" upgrade, priced at $4.99, that turns off ads entirely.
