Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked summer event is set to unveil new products, including foldable phones, headphones, smartwatches, and the Galaxy Ring health wearable.

Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked summer event is less than a week away, and rumors are swirling about upcoming products. The company may unveil new foldable phones, headphones, smartwatches and, perhaps most importantly, share details about its long-awaited Galaxy Ring health wearable. We're also hoping to hear updates on Galaxy AI, the phone maker's suite of artificial intelligence-powered software features.

Samsung will broadcast the event live on the company's website, Samsung Newsroom and YouTube channel starting at 06:00 PT (9:00 ET, 14:00 BST, 23:00 AEDT) on the 10th. The company also issued an animation invitation on YouTube, showing a 3D cube that rotates on its flat surface corner, and then projected the outline of the Eiffel Tower and the Galaxy AI logo.

The update of the Galaxy AI

In the invitation, which the company issued on June 25, Samsung wrote: "Here is the next Galaxy AI border." The Galaxy AI, which Samsung's first debut at the beginning of this year, the goal is to improve and simplify various tasks, such as photo editing and searching. As more phone makers from Apple to Google offer their own AI products, Samsung is sure to continue expanding its efforts in this area. In fact, Galaxy AI's prominence in the invite suggests it will likely dominate the main stage. The invite also says, "Get ready to discover the power of Galaxy AI, now integrated into the latest Galaxy Z series and the entire Galaxy ecosystem," indicating that the next generation of foldable and flip devices will also be unveiled.

    Galaxy Ring

We finally learned more about the long-awaited Galaxy Ring, which Samsung teased at its Unpacked event in January and showed off a prototype at this year's Mobile World Congress. As Samsung continues its foray into digital health, it will need to differentiate itself from competitors like the Oura ring, as CNET's Patrick Holland notes. It has the potential to do this by leveraging its brand reputation (if you already love your Samsung phone and/or smartwatches, you might gravitate toward the Galaxy Ring, too), and by making the Galaxy Ring more affordable. (The Oura Ring costs about $300 with a monthly subscription fee of $6.) We'll likely learn the final specs, pricing, and availability at this summer's Unpacked event.
