As mentioned in a LinkedIn post highlighted by Windows Central, Microsoft is gearing up for a big Surface launch later this month. The announcement is set for January 30th during Microsoft’s AI Tour event in New York City, which promises to focus on Surface for Business.

There is speculation that Microsoft will release versions of the Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 equipped with Intel processors, models that focus on adopting these next-generation chips. The Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 with Intel Meteor Lake processors were released in 2024, followed by an updated Surface Copilot Plus model with Qualcomm chips and an updated design. With that in mind, the Lunar Lake-based Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 could be a continuation of Microsoft's efforts to cater to business users.

While the Surface Laptop Studio is expected to be refreshed with the current 13th-generation Intel silicon, it's unlikely to make an appearance at this business-focused event. Similarly, rumors of a compact 11-inch Surface Go/Surface Laptop Go hybrid with a Snapdragon X Plus processor suggest that it may also be left out of this particular event, as it appears to be aimed at a different audience. We'll be keeping an eye on Microsoft's AI journey for the latest details on this long-awaited Surface launch, so stay tuned for updates.
