The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the flagship processor in Microsoft's Copilot+ laptops, has been benchmarked against Intel and Qualcomm in various tests.

Why is a PC the best personal computing platform? There are many choices between laptop brands and processor brands. Sometimes, this choice can be intimidating. Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X Elite just launched in Microsoft's first Copilot laptops, going up against Intel's Core Ultra chip. With the launch of the Ryzen AI 300 series today, you're faced with a third choice. Don't worry, we've just finished benchmarking the new flagship processor in the Copilot+ laptop, the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Here's how it stacked up against Intel and Qualcomm in a wide range of tests: Spoiler attention: The new AMD chip is beautiful, beautiful and very good.

AMD RYZEN AI 9 HX 370 Multifond Performance

Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite offers impressive multiman performance, but the brass ring on this tour is sent to the AMD's new Ryzen 300 AI series. The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is ahead of Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100, and you can definitely see the results of knocking out Core Ultra 7 155h Intel.

Intel fans can cry. This is because Core Ultra 9 185H has more multi -core performance than test chips. That’s true and I’ll note that Notebookcheck.com recorded a Core Ultra 9 185H with a score of 947 but that’s still behind the performance of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. AMD is likely to also point out that the Core Ultra 9 185H is a 45 watt TDP chip versus the Ryzen AI 9’s 17 watt to 28 watt configuration. We'll leave that debate to Reddit, but what's most impressive about the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is that it delivers slightly better performance than the Core i9-13900H and the Ryzen 9 7940HS. The Core i9-13900H "Raptor Lake" is a 45W TDP chip, while the Ryzen 9 7940HS "Phoenix" is a 35W-54W chip. Both are installed in thicker, heavier, and more powerful content creation laptops, and they generally keep the processor cooler and allow for more power.

And not just in Cinebench 2024. We also see how well the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 handles Handbrake video encoding, which uses the CPU cores to run. We see that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is on par with more powerful content creation laptops and even outperforms the Snapdragon X Elite and Core Ultra 7.
